The Department of Student Activities and New Student Orientation (DSANSO) is responsible for providing leadership in holistic student learning and guides students and their families with their transition into the campus community. The DSANSO is responsible for the development and implementation of orientation and transition programming grounded in student learning outcomes. The department focuses on developing students who are self-aware, culturally competent, ethical and civically engaged.
Emphasis is placed on empowering students to be successful professionals in a vibrant, diverse, and global workforce. All student leaders managed by the area are required to complete the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Certificate program prior to expressing interest in membership of the Campus Alliance for Student Activities (CASA), Student Government Association (SGA), New Student Orientation (NSO) Leaders, RSO e-boards, residential assistants (RA), the royal courts, and SGA We leverage student activities event planning in a manner to provide student leadership opportunities and to increase student morale via an exciting college experience through curated events and opportunities.
The Campus Alliance for Student Activities (CASA) plans a plethora of events each year in partnership with other organizations at Morehouse, members of the Atlanta University Consortium and external partners. Some of those events include
CASA and its professional advisors provide event management support to student organizations and unaffiliated students who desire to host events. Unaffiliated students must submit and receive an event proposal approval prior to submitting a request for event space. p>
